4of12: An Apr. 2017 Playlist

People have tried many times to show me their version of "the light." It would come out that 90-95 percent of the music I listened to was hip-hop or R&B and so I would be told that I had to check out this guitarist or needed to listen to that classic band. While that narrow scope of taste has allowed me to write about hip-hop for years now, it was never lost on me that I was missing out on a great many other things. But my taste is my own, and so a lot of the recommendations made failed to stick.

And so we've arrived at the April playlist, an eclectic reflection of what has been my conscious effort to branch out. New Future Islands. New Paramore. New Gorillaz. I couldn't ignore Kendrick's album either, but this playlist is far from the 90-95 percent of what I used to listen to.
